How Do I Add A New User?
Step 1: Click on the module 'User Management'. After that, make sure you are on the 'Users' tab.
Step 2: Click on Add User:
Step 3: Fill in the fields at the form you are presented with:
Please note a few things:
- The login is the username that people will have to use in order to login. This may be the same as their e-mail address but this does not have to be.
- Most people will require a mobile phone number, so Harvest can send an OTP password to their mobile phone. Fill in the full international number, like this: +66 123456789. Do NOT enter the local phone number in your country (e.g. 0839489405) without the country code as the OTP text message is sent from another country.
- The difference between content language and system language is explained here.
- Even though they do not have an asterisk, for a new user you will have to provide a password (twice).
After you are done, click Save.
Step 4: You will need to add at least one System Role:
- Click the + icon to add a role.
- Then select the "System Role" from the dropdown list. Do you want this user to be a research user, a denominational admin, a group user? Note: if the desired role does not yet exist, please contact GlobalRize to set it up for you.
- Depending on the role you select, you may have to enter more information. In the example above, we are creating a user who can administrate a denomination. So we need to select the denomination that he can administrate.
Step 5: Click Save. You can now tell the new user their username and password. Ask them to change their password after they login for security measures.How do I change the details for a user, such as mobile phone number or password?
How do I change user details such as mobile phone number or e-mail address?
Step 1: Click on the module 'User Management'. After that, make sure you are on the 'Users' tab.
Step 2: Click on the login of the user you want to change. If needed, you can search on their login, name or e-mail address.
Step 3: At the form you can change any detail that you need to change. See Adding Users for more explanation on the different fields.
Step 4: Click Save to save your changes.
How Can I Disable A User Account?
Follow the steps above for changing user details, and uncheck the 'Enabled?' field for that user:
How Can I Delete A User Account?
You can't, for several reasons:
- We track the usage of Harvest per user account. Deleting the account would also delete the usage-tracking.
- The pricing model may be linked to user accounts. However, clients do not pay for disabled user accounts (if that account was disabled the whole year), so deleting an account altogether is not necessary.
Note: If you need to setup a test account for a certain role (to test the security) you can request GlobalRize to delete that account after the tests are complete so you will not have to pay for that account at all.
